LEBANON PRIDE FESTIVAL - DAY OF INFORMATION

Safety is our first priority for all events, including our inaugural Lebanon Pride Festival.

We continue to work hard to ensure that we have the proper personnel and safety

measures required to bring you a safe event by working with law enforcement and other

agencies.

What about concerns for this year?

Lebanon Pride Festival has worked closely with the City of Lebanon in planning for our

festival on July 20, 2024. Conversations have been proactive in nature and are not in

response to any specific concerns about our event. In addition, members of our team have

safety training and incident command experience.

What about protesters?

There may be bystanders who engage in protesting on the day of our festival. All citizens

have a right to speak while on public property, including public spaces in our festival area.

Protestors may not use any amplification in their efforts; law enforcement will take action

if protestors use microphones, bullhorns or other methods of amplification.

Lebanon Pride has a non-engagement policy. We ask all attendees to not engage with any

protesters and allow key volunteers and police to handle any situations. The protesters

want attention, please do not give it to them.

Why do you work with the city and the police?

While security is our priority, we as an organization recognize the tenacious relationship

that exists historically between the police and LGBTQIA+ community. Our event requires

a special event permit to host our festival. We are required by the city to use law

enforcement and work with other city agencies, such as Traffic, Fire and EMS.

Lebanon Pride has had a good relationship with the Lebanon Police Department and City

of Lebanon in the development of our first festival. We are committed to continue to build

that relationship to ensure protection and safety for our community year round, and

address concerns as they arise.

Is there a bag policy?

Lebanon Pride reserves the right to inspect all bags.

May we bring lawn chairs? Umbrellas?

Absolutely. We have a day of music and entertainment planned. Feel free to bring a chair

to use while enjoying the park and stage areas. July weather can be unpredictable. Feel

free to bring an umbrella should the forecast call for rain.

Can I bring my pet? (non-service animal)

Please leave your pets at home (the noise and the weather can upset our furry friends).

Will there be DORA (Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area) cups available?

There will be a limited amount of cups available for purchase. These will allow you to drink your beverage outside of the designated beer area and go into shops that allow it. We ask everyone to be courteous and properly dispose your cup once finished. More information about DORA can be found here.

Inclement weather:

It is July - and the end of Warren County Fair week - this all but guarantees hot weather!

Dress accordingly and hydrate well. Lebanon Pride will have water for sale and our

vendors will have other beverage options. Don’t forget sunscreen.

Stormy weather is also a possibility. Guests are encouraged to use their own judgment

about leaving or taking shelter if wind or lightning are on the way. Festival organizers will

be closely monitoring the weather in cooperation with the City and Lebanon Police.

Announcements about weather threats will be made from the stage, on social media and

on our website.
